Thinking about season 3 and how a large part of the Roy and Keeley break up was that Roy didn’t see how he fit in Keeley’s life anymore and he didn’t want to hold her back and get in the way of her career and aspirations

And thinking about how a big part of season 3 was Keeley moving on with Jack at the same time as we were seeing Roy figuring out what to do with his single person time by volunteering to help Jamie get even better and reach his career aspirations…

Also thinking about season 1 and how Jamie was portrayed as a big man baby who couldn’t do anything by himself and constantly needed Keeley around and to do things for him by the way Keeley made his appointments for him and picked him up and went with him and how he brought a backup date and was sleeping with someone else right after the break up with the whole what was I supposed to do shower alone thing

And about how in season 2 the issue we saw with Roy and Keeley was Roy enjoying spending every minute together and doing everything together while Keeley felt smothered by his constant presence

And in season 3 how Keeley’s two exes that were too codependent on her became codependent on each other and spent more time with each other than anyone else without there ever being a plot line or even throw away comment about them being sick of each other from spending so much time together (and instead even after they got in a literal fight and spent the entire night together it’s hey are you hungry let’s go get something to eat together)

Jamie and Roy sit on either side of Keeley's dining table, as before. Roy's arms are folded tight over his chest defensively. Keeley's are folded angrily. Jamie is ragdoll relaxed. A year ago that would have driven Roy fucking mental, but now he knows it's just a put on attitude. Chances aren't bad with him that belligerently limp he could be even more nervous than Roy is. They've been sitting here in tense silence for- fuck even knows. Roy and Jamie have apologized, they've handed over their small gifts of attrition, and now Keeley is letting them stew. As is her right, after what they pulled last week. Finally she speaks. "I want to hear you beg." Roy doesn't... really know how to do that - isn't really sure if he wants to learn either, come to it - but Jamie leaps right in. His fake nonchalant air evaporates off him in an instant and he leans forward over the table with hands clasped. "Please, Keeley," he whines softly. "Please, we're so sorry, we'll do anything." Roy has a moment of surprise that Jamie has taken it upon himself to beg for both of them, but that too fades off in a blink. Jamie goes on and on, and the longer he goes the stranger the tone of his voice turns. He sounds like- Well, he sure doesn't sound like no one's touching him. Unsubtly, Roy looks under the table to check if Keeley has her foot pressed into Jamie's lap. She doesn't. When Roy sits back straight, Jamie has fallen mostly quiet again behind a bitten lip, and Keeley is looking with cool expectation at Roy. He shifts in his seat - uncomfortable in more than one way. "Please," he rasps, and his voice too comes out like the situation is different. Or maybe just... a little further along. Jamie makes a small, cut-off noise in the back of his throat, then lets his head drop down between his still outstretched arms. "Anything?" Keeley prompts pointedly. "Anything," Roy agrees. She smirks and gets up. "Well," she says leadingly. "Let's see what I can come up with."

3x10, a mix of everything, part 1

didn't expect it to happen that fast but HELL YEAH. there's nothing for Nathan to do next to Rupert. Rupert keeps switching his lovers like socks while his wife is still at home with their daughter. come on!! villain arc for Bex and Rebecca when? when is Rupert gonna get killed die and leave Bex all the money??? and then Bex and Rebecca become best friends and raise a daughter together?

Trent being the heart of the team? do you remember how it all started and how wary everyone was of him? do you? it warms my heart, but it warms it twice bc of the clear bond we see between Colin and Trent. like, older queer with younger queer, helping each other out and bonding. their friendship does things to me tbh. it's so very important and intimate and—

in other words, representation matters.

sometimes I really have no idea what this season is doing. i miss them being a dramedy, not a full on sitcom. i'm enjoying this season, but sometimes it's borderline too much. it's out of nowhere and it's not necessary at all.

besties unlocked <3 Trent is such a sunshine, I love him. the way he and Ted share a raised eyebrows look. there is something so wonderful happening between Ted and Trent from the moment they met. it's like they're connected and are being drawn to each other.
